Disability and NDIS support

Find disability support that fits your life

Explore support workers, support coordination, therapy, plan management, SIL and SDA services in one place.

When this support may help

Disability support can help with daily living, community participation, therapy, plan navigation, housing and building independence. The right option depends on your goals, preferences, location and funding.

Funding and costs

Funding depends on your plan, the support and how your funding is managed. Confirm what can be paid before agreeing to a service. Ask for a written quote covering visits, travel and cancellations.

Questions to ask a provider

  • Do you support people with my funding type?
  • Do you have capacity in my area and when could support begin?
  • Can I choose the workers or team members involved?
  • How do you communicate changes, concerns or cancellations?

Start with the task you want help with

You do not need to know a service name before asking for help. Describe an everyday situation: getting ready in the morning, travelling to an activity, understanding your plan or making your home easier to use. Include what you want to do yourself and where another person’s assistance would make a difference. This helps a provider explain whether their service is suitable.

  • For regular assistance with routines, explore support workers and personal care.
  • For help organising different services, read about support coordination. This is a different role from paying invoices.
  • For invoice and budget administration, read about plan management.
  • For a specific functional or communication goal, explore allied health.
  • For home and living, compare SIL and SDA carefully: support arrangements and accommodation are different decisions.

Check funding before agreeing to start

NDIA-managed supports require registered providers. People with self-managed or plan-managed funding can usually choose registered or unregistered providers, but some supports have additional registration requirements. Check the rules for your particular support and whether it can be paid from your plan before booking. A directory listing does not confirm eligibility or funding approval. Read the NDIS guidance on choosing providers for the official explanation.

Compare the actual support arrangement

Ask who will visit, how workers are matched, whether the same people can attend regularly and what happens when someone is away. Explain communication preferences, cultural needs, accessibility requirements and anything that makes a first meeting easier. Ask for a written explanation of the service, charges, cancellation conditions and how concerns are handled. You can take time to read it and ask someone you trust to help.

A useful first enquiry

For example: “I am looking for help preparing meals on two weekday afternoons in Rockingham. I prefer an email first. Please tell me your availability, visit length and any travel charge.” This is more useful than sharing a full plan or medical history with every business you contact. Your first request can stay brief; detailed information can be discussed securely with a provider you choose.

If there is no suitable listing yet

Care4AU’s directory is growing. You can submit a free support request, look at the official provider finder linked from the NDIS guidance, or ask your existing support network. No listing or request guarantees availability. Keep a short record of who you contacted and the next step agreed. Our provider comparison checklist helps you compare answers consistently.
