NDIA-managed NDIS supports

When NDIS funding is managed by the NDIA, the NDIA pays providers for eligible supports under the participant’s plan. Participants generally need to use NDIS-registered providers for NDIA-managed supports, subject to current rules and any applicable exceptions. Always confirm requirements for a specific support with the NDIA or the relevant official guidance.

How to check a provider

Use the NDIS Commission’s official provider register to check current registration details and registration groups. Confirm that the provider’s registered scope is relevant to the service being discussed. A register entry is one useful check; it does not guarantee availability, service quality, fit or funding approval for an individual support.

Questions to ask before agreeing

  • Are you currently registered for the relevant support, and where can I verify it?
  • Do you have capacity in the participant’s suburb and preferred schedule?
  • What service will be delivered and by which workers?
  • What rates, travel and cancellation charges apply?
  • Can we review a written service agreement and complaint process?

Keep the participant informed

Explain options in an accessible way and give the participant time to choose. Check the service agreement, plan information and current NDIS pricing arrangements. Do not assume that every service or charge is covered just because a provider is registered.
