NDIS plan-managed supports
With plan management, a registered plan management provider helps a participant manage NDIS plan funds and pay provider invoices. The participant generally chooses providers, while the plan manager handles payment administration and budget records. Confirm the arrangement and any plan conditions from the participant’s current documents and official NDIA information.
Questions to ask a provider
- Do you work with plan-managed participants and provide invoices to plan managers?
- What support will you deliver, how often and who will provide it?
- What are the agreed rates, travel costs, cancellation terms and other charges?
- Can you send a written service agreement and explain the exit process?
- What information do you need to invoice, and how do you protect it?
Before support begins
Check that the proposed support fits the participant’s plan, goals and current NDIS rules. Ask the plan manager or NDIA if you are unsure about funding or payment requirements. A provider saying it accepts plan-managed funding does not guarantee that a particular support will be funded. Make sure the participant understands the agreement and chooses whether to proceed.
Keep records and monitor the service
Keep copies of the service agreement, invoices and relevant correspondence. Review invoices against the services actually delivered and raise discrepancies with the provider and plan manager. If needs or circumstances change, ask the provider how to update the arrangement and check relevant plan information.
